Instructions
  1. In a mixing bowl sift flour, icing sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  2. Add eggs, buttermilk, warm water, vegetable oil and vanilla essence. Use a electric whisk to mix all ingredients.
  3. Grease 3 22cm round baking tin and dust with flour or cocoa powder. Divide the batter into 3 equal portions using a measuring cup.
  4. Preheat oven at 175c and bake each cake for 22 mins. Cool in a wire rake.
  5. In a double boiler melt dark compound and let cool.
  6. In a mixing bowl beat butter and sour cream till fluffy. Add melted dark compound and icing sugar and whisk further.
  7. You can use frosting like this or refrigerate it for some time for a thicker ganache.
  8. Apply ganache on first cake then gently place second cake over it. Apply ganache on second layer and place the third cake over it. Now apply it all around the cake to cover it. Decorate as desired.
